Ilesa Book Club Congratulates Prince Adesuyi Haastrup as New Owa Obokun of Ijesaland

 ILESA BOOK CLUB CONGRATULATES PRINCE ADESUYI HAASTRUP AS NEW OWA OBOKUN OF IJESALAND



Ilesa Book Club, an initiative of Read Across Nigeria (RAN), has joyfully congratulated Prince Adesuyi Clement Haastrup on his historic emergence as the 49th Owa Obokun of Ijesaland. 


This marks a significant moment in the cultural and traditional heritage of the Ijesa people.

Prince Haastrup, a descendant of the prestigious Bilaro Oluodo Ruling House, will ascend the throne as the successor to the late Oba Gabriel Adekunle Aromolaran. His emergence is celebrated as a step toward continuity and advancement in Ijesaland’s leadership and development.  


The Ilesa Book Club expressed its excitement at the emergence of Prince Haastrup, emphasizing that his intellectual acumen, cultural awareness, and leadership qualities make him an ideal candidate to uphold and enhance the values of Ijesaland.  


In its statement, the Club noted the importance of this transition, describing it as an opportunity to strengthen the bonds of unity and foster growth across the region. “Prince Haastrup’s reign represents a new chapter in our history, one filled with potential for educational, cultural, and societal advancements,” the statement read.  


The Ilesa Book Club also paid tribute to the late Oba Gabriel Adekunle Aromolaran, acknowledging his decades of impactful leadership and dedication to the progress of Ijesaland. They expressed confidence that Prince Haastrup would honor this legacy while carving out his own distinct contributions.  


As a literacy and cultural advocacy organization, the Club expressed hope that the new monarch would prioritize educational and cultural initiatives that would benefit the people of Ijesaland. They pledged their support in collaborating with the traditional institution to achieve these noble objectives.  


The Club called on all Ijesa indigenes and residents to rally behind the new Owa Obokun in unity and solidarity. “Leadership thrives on collective effort,” the Club stated. “Let us all work together to ensure that this reign is marked by peace, progress, and prosperity for Ijesaland.”  


The coronation ceremony of Prince Haastrup is eagerly anticipated as a cultural milestone. The Ilesa Book Club affirmed its readiness to actively participate in the festivities and contribute to making the event a grand celebration of Ijesa heritage.  


The Ilesa Book Club concluded its message with a heartfelt prayer for the reign of Prince Adesuyi Haastrup, expressing optimism that his leadership would bring unparalleled blessings, opportunities, and harmony to Ijesaland.
